The Tema Regional Police Public Affairs Unit in line with the transformational agenda of the Ghana police service, which seeks to bring policing to the doorstep of the citizenry, took part in the first-ever job fair organized by the Honorable Member of Parliament for Tema Central, Mr Kofi Brako in conjunction with Project Assist Global.
The fair whose main objective was to inform and educate the youth on career or job opportunities within various organizations, took place on July 27, 2019, at the Tema community 4 Presco Park. The police used the occasion not only to inform the youth on opportunities existing in the Service but also to educate the youth on police activities and crime prevention in our society.
About 45 organizations took part in the fair, which was attended by mostly the youth who had completed their Senior High School, and First Degree holders.
The team from the Public Affairs Unit led by DSP Joseph Benefo Darkwah explained to the youth the various departments and units within the service and how they function. Pictures on police activities from the various units such as CID, Marine Police and Police Hospital, as well as operations such as Operation Calm Life and Vanguard were displayed and explained to the public.
