DIRECTOR-GENERAL POLICE INTELLIGENCE DIRECTORATE (PID)

The Director-General, PID shall be responsible to the IGP for the following:

  1. Intelligence gathering on crime and criminal activities across the country;
  2. Track and predict crime;
  3. Passing on processed information to appropriate Schedule Officers and Commanders for the necessary arrests, investigation and actions to be taken;
  4. Liaise with Directors-General, CID and Operations to profile criminals and analyze crime trends;
  5. Develop and maintain a database for persons of interest;
  6. Cultivate credible informants;
  7. Collaborate with other security intelligence agencies and stakeholders in the intelligence sector on events likely to cause discontent and break down of law and order in the country; and
  8. Any other duty as assigned by the IGP.
