Re-Operationalisation of the Ghana Police Motorbike Patrol Unit (MBPU)

RE-OPERATIONALISATION OF THE GHANA POLICE MOTORBIKE PATROL UNIT (MBPU)

Today, Wednesday July 18, 2018 at the Police Headquarters, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. David Asante-Apeatu integrated armed motorbike patrols into the operations of the Ghana Police Service, following successful piloting since April this year. Effectively, a Motorbike Patrol Unit has been set up under the National Operations Directorate at the Police Headquarters.

Armed Police Officers on motorbike patrols are posted to selected communities within Ghana as part of strategies to fight armed robbery and violent crimes such as vehicle snatching, attack on mobile money operators and many more.

Give us feedback on visibility and conduct of Ghana Police Service Motorbike Police Officers in your community.
