{"id":4126,"date":"2019-04-05T15:00:19","date_gmt":"2019-04-05T15:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/police.gov.gh\/en\/?p=4126"},"modified":"2019-04-05T15:00:19","modified_gmt":"2019-04-05T15:00:19","slug":"opening-ceremony-of-49th-police-officers-cadet-course","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/police.gov.gh\/en\/index.php\/opening-ceremony-of-49th-police-officers-cadet-course\/","title":{"rendered":"Opening Ceremony of 49th Police Officers Cadet Course"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>OPENING CEREMONY OF 49<span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">TH\u00a0<\/span>POLICE OFFICERS CADET COURSE<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mr. David Asante-Apeatu has officially declared the 49<sup>th<\/sup> Cadet Course made up of 141 officers comprising 31 females and 111 males opened at the Police Academy in Accra on Thursday 4<sup>th<\/sup> April 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the Cadet Officers, the IGP stated that their training curriculum is designed to resonate with the contemporary security needs of society. He also emphasized that modules that make up the curriculum include leadership development, client orientation and creativity.<\/p>\n<p>Touching on Policing with Integrity, the IGP explained that integrity has become an \u201cendangered social value\u201d particularly in the Police Service, and entreated the Cadets to endeavor to serve with integrity to dignify the motto \u201cService with Integrity\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In a speech by the Commandant of the Academy of the Ghana Police Service which is ACP\/Mr. Darku Offei-Lomotey, he said, the Academy provides highly innovative professional training programmes to make commissioned Police officers critical thinkers, positioned to respond to the challenges of a rapidly transforming internal security environment.<\/p>\n<p>The 141 Cadet Officers include five already appointed senior officers yet to be commissioned into their ranks \u2013a Pathologist, Gynaecologist, Surgeon, Pediatrician and Optometrist. The remaining 138 until their enrollment at the Police Academy last served as Chief Inspectors in various capacities including public affairs, prosecutions, investigations, nursing and general duty.
