The Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service has received two brand<\/strong> new Suzuki Hayate GE110 motor cycles 2018 models<\/strong> from the Metropolitan Life Insurance at the forecourt of the Criminal Investigations Department.<\/p>\n

The two (2) motorcycles estimated to\u00a0cost Eleven thousand Ghana cedis (GH\u20b511,000.00)<\/strong> were presented by the MD of Metropolitan life Insurance, Mr. Tawiah Ben-Ahmed and his team to the Service. In his remarks, he stated that Ghana Police Service (GPS) which is constitutionally mandated to provide security to both businesses and the citizenry have effectively discharged their duties over the years making Ghana attractive and serene for businesses to operate without fear. Adding that, the far cry of the service has been the inadequacy of logistics to facilitate the<\/strong> effective performance<\/strong> of their constitutional mandate of providing internal security more effectively. This challenge he says, was a major highlight in a recent discussion between Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service and Metropolitan Life Insurance. It is against this background that the company decided to support the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) with two brand new Suzuki GE110 motorcycles to facilitate their patrols and effective investigative assignments.<\/p>\n

Receiving the motor cycles on behalf of the Criminal Investigations Department, Director of Operations\/CID ACP Mr. Joseph Eklu Gyamera expressed the Police Administrations\u2019 appreciation to Metropolitan Life Insurance for this gesture. He however applauded Metropolitan Life Insurance for giving out such support within a short period. He assured the team that, the motorcycles would be put to good use as records shows that some criminals use motorcycles to operate and for that matter Police equally needed same means to meander their ways through traffic to catch up with them for necessary action.<\/p>\n
