DIRECTOR-GENERAL CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DEPARTMENT (CID)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1637755253766{margin-top: 30px !important;}”]The Director-General, CID shall be responsible to the IGP on the following:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. All criminal matters;<\/li>\n
  2. Ensure the running and maintenance of an effective and efficient Detective Training School for the training of all detectives in the country;<\/li>\n
  3. Administer and coordinate activities of Regional, Divisional, District and Station CIDs;<\/li>\n
  4. Supervise, monitor and control all activities of the Forensic Science Department;<\/li>\n
  5. Supervise, monitor and control activities of all units under the CID:<\/li>\n
  6. Create and facilitate crime intelligence units under the CID;<\/li>\n
  7. Supervise, monitor and control crime research activities to establish crime trends and patterns;<\/li>\n
  8. Develop strategies for crime prevention, control, investigation and detection;<\/li>\n
  9. Ensure the deportation and extradition of persons in accordance with law;<\/li>\n
  10. Ensure the compilation of Criminal Statistics, Police Gazette and the Annual crime report;<\/li>\n
  11. Collect, collate and coordinate information and intelligence on crimes and criminals; and<\/li>\n
  12. Any other duties as assigned by the IGP.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
