Michael Kpoyi51475 G/L/Coporal

The late No. 51475 G/L/Cpl. Michael Kpoyi was enlisted into the Ghana Police Service on 10th April, 2013 and passed out on 6th November, 2013 at the Regional Police School, Winneba in the Central Region.

He was posted to Regional Headquarters Operations, Tema on 23rd June, 2014 and later attached to Rapid Deployment Force (RDF), Tema.

On 12th June, 2017 at about 6:00pm after duty parade held at the forecourt of Tema Regional Police Headquarters, he embarked on his patrol duty with a service motorcycle.

On reaching Tulaku on the Michel Camp Road near Ashiaman roundabout, two unidentified persons with unregistered motorcycle fired several shots at him which made him lose control of the motorcycle and fell into a gutter in the bush near Sawiz filling station. The information got to police officers on snap check duty at Tulaku old barrier. They rushed to the scene to find him in a pool of blood.

He was rushed to police hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The Inspector – General of Police Mr. David Asante – Apeatu Posthumously promoted him to the rank of L/Cpl with effect from 11th June, 2017.
