CID HOLDS A-DAY WORKSHOP FOR CRIME OFFICERS & DOOVSU COORDINATORS IN TEMA & ACCRA REGIONS

A-Day workshop on the theme: “Effective Public Speaking” was organized by the Criminal Investigations Department for about Eighty (80) Crime Officers at the Police Headquarters Cafeteria Conference Room.

Participants were drawn from Accra and Tema Police Regions, as well as some personnel from Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), and Ghana Prisons Service.

The workshop was aimed at helping Crime Officers build their confidence to better handle issues professionally as required.

In his welcome remarks, the Deputy Director General/CID, ACP/Mr. Francis Aboagye-Nyarko made it known to participants that effective public speaking is a vital tool that all public officers must posess to enhance their delivery to various stakeholders at all times.

He entreated participants to take the lessons seriously in order to nurture their subordinates to acquire same skills to enhance their current and future deliveries.

In his presentation, Ambassador Kabral Blay-Amihere, an accomplished journalist and a communication expert first showed a separate video documentary of Martin Luther King Jnr. and Dr. Kwame Nkrumah delivering one of their emancipation, Injustice, and freedom messages to prepare participants for the main lecture.

He also took participants through the basic requirements needed when it comes to effective public speaking such as, knowing the audience, media engagement, in-depth knowledge about the topic and time management.

He donated four of his books namely ‘Ayeyi Praise’ to the CID Administration to help equip crime officers with the needed knowledge in their field of work.

ACP/Mr. Francis Aboagye-Nyarko on behalf of the Police Administration showed his appreciation to the speaker for his time spent and knowledge shared with participants adding that lessons taken would be put to good use.
