Central Region

Central Region shares boundaries with the Greater Accra Region, Eastern Region, Western Region and Ashanti Region of Ghana.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCOP/Mr. Paul Manly Awini is the current Central Regional Commander with DCOP/Mr.Enoch Adutwum Bediako as the Deputy Regional Commander. The Regional Headquarters can be located at Cape Coast, pedu junction.

Cape Coast is the Regional Headquarters with ten (10) units under its command. It has seven (7) divisions, thirty-two (32) districts and ninety-nine (99) police stations/posts. The Region also has Police Command and Staff College for Senior Officers at Winneba. It is currently headed by COP/Mr. Charles Tokor.

The Divisions and Districts under their supervision include:

  1. Cape Coast [4 Districts]
  2. Agona Swedru [4 Districts]
  3. Kasoa (8 Districts]
  4. Assin Fosu [7 Districts]
  5. Mankessim [4 Districts]
  6. Gomoa Dawurampong [4]
  7. Dunkwa-on-offin [2]

It has a total manpower of 2,188 made up of about 1,666 males and about 522 females.

They sacrifice of their time, their talents….and sometimes their very own lives.
On this page we honour several brave and dedicated men from the Ghana Police Service: men and women who – in dangerous situations – were reaching out to help those in need of their services and ultimately paid the ultimate sacrifice. It is with great honor that we dedicate this section to them – to let their families know that who they were, and what they stood for, remains steadfast in our hearts and our minds.
